Autumn is prime time for surfing the Great Lakes, the gales start roaring, lake temps are relatively warm, less neoprene needed. Every October brings a day or two where the sun's out, there's a stiff NW wind kicking up some rideable Superior waves, and the autumn colors are at their blazing peak. October 4 was such a day this year, where it just felt good to be near the lake. The lake was it's beautiful blue kicking up a few big barrels every now and then. I count my blessings every time I see that blue on Lake Superior. Here's pics of a few rides of a few surfers, it was a "wait a really long time for a big one" kind of day.
