| Here are photos of Grand Island, a large island on Lake Superior north of Munising. You can take a ferry across or kayak in the summer months to visit the island. There are two lighthouses on the island, and the north light sits on towering cliffs. Grand Island is now a National Recreation area, which was designated so in 1990. Grand Island East Channel Light has been rescued from literally crumbling into the lake by a few dedicated souls. Some of the individuals who worked so hard on the restoration are shown in a couple photos. | ||
