Our beginnings are typical of most photographers- we see the beauty around us and want to share it with others. The wild nature of the UP is what is so beautiful about it; it calms and relaxes the spirit. As photographers, we strive to find subjects in the best possible light to make our images come to life. We try to replicate as well some of the emotion of the moment, as so typically found in the areas of  relatively undeveloped Upper Peninsula Lake Superior regions. One of the comments we've received about our work pretty much sums up what we try to accomplish: "your photography puts me there.....It's just like being there".  

We offer fine art prints for your home/restaurant/office/collection/gallery, and can also custom mat and frame your piece.  We offer archival quality double white core mats and appropriate wood and metal framing. We offer selected prints up to 40'x60". Fine art gallery wraps are available on selected images with or without a beautiful black metal floater frame. Please inquire if interested in canvas.

We maintain a stock database of 10,000+ images of the Lake Superior Region. Of course, not all of it is currently viewable on this site.  We hope to have our web collection keyword searchable in 2007.

We work with fine advertising/image agencies and our images are available thru us as well.

Typical usage of our work is in calendars, books, postcards, magazines, newspapers, directory covers, brochures, billboards, tv commercials, trade shows, catalogues and websites. Examples of typical recent media usage/gallery display/advertising usage include Brooks Cole Educational Division, Canoe and Kayak, Huey Real Estate, Kewadin Casinos, McDonald's, Lake Superior Community Partnership, Marquette Country Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Landmark Inn, Michigan DNR, Michigan Tourist, Naterra Land, Northern Michigan Land Brokers, NBC Torino Olympics coverage, Traverse Magazine, US Speedskating Media Guide, Lake Superior Magazine, SBC (now AT&T) phone book covers for four Upper Peninsula cities 2004/2005, Sierra Club, US Space Agency/NASA, WLUC TV6.

We use Canon 5D/1DS Mark II with EF IS lenses, as well as Nikon film cameras (Fuji Velvia film) where appropriate. Digital has allowed us to capture otherwise "uncapturable" moments; however there are many instances where digital "isn't yet there" and film still is used exclusively to achieve the best possible image. We are looking into creating a medium/large format landscape portfolio in the future.
